Euphorbia pilosa is a much branched, milky latex bearing tall herb of 40-80 cm. Leaves are alternate, elliptic-oblong to narrow elliptic. Infloroscence with flowers in heads having cup shaped bracts which encircles the male flowers, each with one stamen that surround a single female flower. Female flowers are three chambered, stalked ovary.
