Spiranthes sinensis is an erect orchid with 5-6 cm long cylindrical tubers. Stem is 10-40 cm tall. Leaves are 2-5 each. Flowers are pink or occasionally white and spirally arranged on long spikes. The specific name Phirlya means from China.
