About Us
Blue Poppy Holidays is a small, family-run company led by Devkant and Seema Sangwan. Since 2006 we have taken more than 4,000 travellers to the Valley of Flowers, and we look after them in our own camps and hotels along the way — in Ghangaria, Joshimath and Auli.
How it began
Devkant Sangwan first came to the Valley of Flowers in 2004 and instantly fell in love with the place. He kept coming back, again and again, and finally left his profession as a company secretary to follow this dream. He still goes into the valley many times every season — he calls it his second wife — and knows where and when each flower blooms.
Seema, his wife since 1999, shares this love of travel and of the valley, and travels with him. Many of the photographs on this website were taken by the two of them over the years.

Why travel with us
- We know the valley. Years of trips in every part of the season mean honest advice on when to come, what you will see and how far to go — all the way to the deeper parts of the valley.
- Our own places to stay. You sleep at our Swiss Cottage Camps in Ghangaria, our hotel in Joshimath and our resort in Auli, so we look after you ourselves.
- The flowers, by name. Our guide to 150 flowers of the valley is built from our own photographs and notes.
- Small groups and personal care. On bigger groups, guides travel with you; on every trip, you deal with us directly.
