Trek between Govindghat and Pulna is now motorable

Govindghat to Ghangaria trek : The Govindghat is the last motorable point for your trip to Valley of Flowers and Hemkund Sahib. After the floods of 2013 lot of things have changed. The trek is rebuilt at most of the places. Govindghat is at an altitude of 5500 feet and Ghangaria is at 10200 feet. The trek distance is 14 km. But after the floods new road is built till village Pulna. Pulna is first village between Govindghat and Ghangaria trek. Now the first 4 km of the trek between Govindghat and Ghangaria is made motorable. You can get pony/ porter at Pulna village. Helicopter is available from Govindghat to Ghangaria. This road between Govindghat and Pulna has reduced the trekking time between Govindghat and Ghangaria considerably. Now instead of staying in Govindghat you can easily stay in Joshimath or Auli a night before the start of trek. Now, you can include visit to Badrinath also in your itinerary easily, you can do it on the day you come back from Ghangaria to Govindghat. Alternatively you can even visit Auli in the evening and stay there.
