Trekkers on the Valley of Flowers and Hemkund Sahib

A whole family trip, end to end

Kalpana Chittaranjan, Chennai · July 2026 · Tripadvisor

Kalpana's brother and sister-in-law trekked to the valley with us in 2024, so Kalpana and the cousins booked their whole trip with us, from pick-up at Dehradun airport to the drop-off after the trek. At our Joshimath hotel Kalpana photographed a green pigeon and a Himalayan bear, and would like to come back for a week just to rest. The review also explains why our Ghangaria camp, right next to the helipad, suits trekkers who take the helicopter, and that our local guide arranges the helicopter, ponies and porters.

"The owners Mr Devkant Sangwan and Mrs Seema Sangwan take personal interest and care of the guests."

A guide who made the difference

Manvinder Singh S · June 2026 · Tripadvisor

Manvinder's family did the Valley of Flowers and Hemkund Sahib, staying at our Joshimath hotel and Ghangaria tents. Every arrangement was taken care of, so they could simply enjoy the mountains. He gave special thanks to our guide Ashok Negi, who set a comfortable pace, shared local stories and made sure everyone reached safely.

"His warmth and dedication transformed what could have been just another trek into a truly memorable journey."

A group of twelve from Gujarat

Anjali · June 2026 · Tripadvisor

A group of 12 did the Valley of Flowers, Hemkund Sahib and Badrinath with us. Seema planned every step with them. They praised the skilled driver, the knowledgeable guide and the clean, well-kept camps at Ghangaria, which were better than they expected.

"We had a wonderful, hassle-free, and truly memorable experience."

Travelling alone with a 9-year-old

A Tripadvisor reviewer · July 2026 · Tripadvisor

A parent trekking alone with a nine-year-old child. Our guide Ashok stayed by their side for the whole trip, which made it easy and enjoyable. Their tip: start early, as early as 5 in the morning.

"Blue Poppy is simply the best."

An honest picture of Ghangaria

am303, Noida · August 2026 · Tripadvisor

The reviewer is clear that these are tents with basic amenities: power is erratic, so carry a torch, and only Jio works. After long trekking days, though, the clean beds and toilets, hot water and hot meals felt like a luxury, and the team went the extra mile. They also noted that the camp has to be taken down after every season and set up again the next year. Their advice: the trek is beautiful but physically demanding, so prepare well.

"The better prepared you are physically, the more you will enjoy it."

The small things

A solo traveller on Tripadvisor · August 2026

A solo trekker who went into the valley on two days in a row and noticed the thoughtful details: flip-flops in the tent, hot drinking water in thermos flasks and an emergency light. Their tip: a "Swiss cottage" is a large tent, spacious and fully waterproof.

"These touches made a real difference in a trekking environment."

Home-grown food and personal care

Raji A · June 2026 · Tripadvisor

Raji and a friend stayed at our Joshimath hotel and did the Valley of Flowers and Hemkund Sahib trek from there. Raji loved the personal care and the food cooked with home-grown organic produce, and plans more trips with us.

"Personalized, high touch, focussed on customer comfort unlike even a 5 star rating hotel or tour company."

Recommended by a friend in 2019

A Tripadvisor reviewer · July 2026

A friend recommended us in 2019, and they finally came in 2026. We made them a custom itinerary. They liked the garden, the rustic wooden cottages and the food at Joshimath, and the warm food and clean bathrooms at Ghangaria, which were better than they expected at that altitude.

"Our trip was awesome, went off without a hitch."

Straight to the owner

A Tripadvisor reviewer · June 2026

They found us online, called the number on the website and spoke to the owner directly, who built a trip around what they wanted, with a private car and their own guide. Most nights were in our own properties, so the quality stayed the same, and Seema answered their questions on WhatsApp throughout.

Four nights at the camp

Ramesh S · July 2026 · Tripadvisor

Ramesh stayed four nights at our Ghangaria camp. The bathroom had a brand-new commode and sink, hot water came on request, and food was always fresh and hot. He found the camp a scenic, easy base for both the Valley of Flowers and Hemkund Sahib.
